Training, Workshops, Retreats & Facilitated Programmes

Practical, engaging and professionally designed learning experiences that equip people with knowledge, skills and strategies for healthier relationships and stronger family life.

TogetherWell Services develops and facilitates learning experiences for couples, parents, families, churches, organisations, schools, professional groups and communities. Our programmes combine credible knowledge with practical application, culturally responsive learning and appropriate faith sensitivity.

More Than an Event

Learning That Leads to Practical Change

A successful programme should do more than gather people in a room or deliver inspiring information. Participants should leave with clearer understanding, useful skills, opportunities for reflection and practical ways to apply what they have learned.

For this reason, TogetherWell programmes are developed around the needs of the audience and the outcomes the programme is intended to achieve. Depending on the purpose, delivery may include teaching, facilitated conversations, practical exercises, reflection tools, case discussions, worksheets, question-and-answer sessions and action planning.

We design learning experiences around what participants should understand, practise and be better equipped to do—not simply around what a speaker wants to say.

Programme Formats

Flexible Formats for Different Needs

Different groups require different learning environments. TogetherWell can adapt programme format, depth and delivery to the audience, objectives and setting.

Workshops & Seminars

Focused learning experiences addressing specific relationship, marriage, parenting, family-life or family-wellness topics, with an emphasis on practical understanding and application.

Training Programmes

More structured learning delivered across one or multiple sessions to develop defined knowledge, skills and competencies around a particular area of relationship or family life.

Couples’ & Family Retreats

Facilitated experiences that create space for couples or families to step away from everyday demands, reflect on important areas of relationship and family life, strengthen connection and develop practical intentions for moving forward.

Facilitated Conversations & Group Experiences

Guided sessions designed to help groups explore important family-life or relationship issues through structured discussion, reflection and practical learning rather than lecture alone.

Areas We Can Explore

Programme Areas

Programmes can be developed around a specific need or draw from several areas of TogetherWell’s family-life and relationship work.

Marriage & Relationship Development

Communication, connection, conflict and repair, expectations, partnership, trust, boundaries, shared direction and other dimensions of healthy couple relationships.

Premarital Preparation

Helping intending couples explore expectations, communication, conflict, family backgrounds, roles, values, finances, extended-family relationships and other important areas of preparation for marriage.

Parenting & Family Life

Child development, parent-child relationships, behaviour guidance, family routines, parenting across developmental stages and navigating contemporary parenting realities.

Family Wellness

Helping participants understand the wider architecture of family wellbeing, recognise strengths and pressures, identify patterns and develop practical priorities for strengthening family life.

Communication, Conflict & Relational Skills

Developing practical skills for listening, emotional awareness, constructive communication, managing disagreement, problem-solving, repair and healthier relational interaction.

Family Vision, Values & Direction

Helping couples and families clarify what matters to them, strengthen shared values and develop greater intentionality around the kind of family life they want to build.

How We Develop Programmes

Programmes Designed Around Real Needs

We do not assume that the same programme will work equally well for every audience. Where appropriate, programme development begins by understanding the need, the people participating and the change the programme is intended to support.

Programme Development Process
  1. NEED
  2. AUDIENCE
  3. OUTCOMES
  4. COMPETENCIES
  5. CURRICULUM
  6. DELIVERY
  7. PRACTICE
  8. ASSESSMENT
  9. EVALUATION
  10. IMPROVEMENT

This approach helps us move beyond choosing an attractive topic. It allows the content, learning activities and delivery method to be aligned with what participants genuinely need to learn and apply.

Good programmes begin with the needs of the people—not merely with a list of topics.

Designed for Context

Relevant to the Realities People Live In

Relationship and family-life education becomes more useful when it understands the environment in which people actually live. TogetherWell pays particular attention to African and Nigerian family realities while drawing from credible knowledge and professional practice.

Depending on the programme, this may include realities such as extended-family relationships, cultural expectations, marriage traditions, parenting practices, economic pressures, gender and family roles, intergenerational relationships, migration, changing social expectations, faith and the demands of contemporary life.

Cultural relevance should help people understand their lives more accurately—not prevent thoughtful examination of practices that may need to change.

Faith-Sensitive Programme Options

Faith-Sensitive Without Losing Practical Depth

TogetherWell is Christianly grounded and can intentionally integrate biblical principles and Christian reflection where this is appropriate to the audience and purpose of the programme.

At the same time, faith-sensitive practice recognises that relationship and family challenges also involve emotional, developmental, behavioural, social and practical realities. Spiritual teaching should deepen responsible family life rather than replace the knowledge and skills people may need.

For churches and Christian organisations, programmes can therefore be developed with more explicit Christian integration. For broader organisations and community settings, delivery can remain professionally accessible while respecting participants’ faith and worldview.

Professional Responsibility & Safeguarding

Learning Within Responsible Boundaries

TogetherWell’s training and facilitated programmes are primarily educational, developmental and preventive. Participation in a workshop, retreat or programme should not automatically be understood as receiving psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, medical care or legal services.

Programmes are also facilitated with attention to dignity, confidentiality, appropriate boundaries and safeguarding. Where a participant discloses a concern that requires specialist or protective intervention, responsible referral or escalation may be more appropriate than attempting to address it within an ordinary group-learning environment.

A group programme should never become a substitute for specialised support when specialised support is what a person needs
